A Hillsboro man faces criminal charges after police say he repeatedly coerced an underage girl into sex.

Steven Blaha, 25, is charged with repeated sexual assault of a child. He faces up to 40 years imprisonment for the charge.

According to the criminal complaint:

A Mauston detective was notified by a Hillsboro officials Oct. 23 about sexual assaults that took place in Mauston.

The victim stated she and Blaha “dated” for a year and four months while was aged 14 or 15. She stated Blaha persuaded her to drink alcohol despite her reluctance.

Blaha reportedly “forced, talked her into, manipulated into having sex with (him)... on a daily basis.”

The victim stated if she refused Blaha would continue asking for sex “until she gave in or he forced himself on her.” Blaha provided morning after pills for the victim and “would force her to take it 2-3 times a month.”

In an interview with law enforcement, an adult female known to the victim said she spoke with Blaha about the incidents and he admitted to “the sexual relationship he had with (the victim).”

Blaha is not currently in the Juneau County Jail. His pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 15 at the Juneau County District Attorney’s Office.
