The holiday parade season in Juneau County begins this weekend with the annual Mauston Christmas Parade.
This year’s celebration will be on Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Mauston High School and will finish through downtown Mauston.
The theme for Mauston’s holiday parade will be “A Gingerbread Christmas.” Spectators are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Mauston Community Sharing Pantry.
Free beverages and cookies will be available. Santa will also be available for visitors until 8 p.m.
Wonewoc Lighted Christmas Parade
Downtown Wonewoc will be alive with the holiday spirit on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Wonewoc’s Lighted Christmas Parade begins at 6 p.m. The parade, celebrating its eighth year, features many floats decked out in Christmas lights and decorations. For information on entering a float, call 608-963-2556.
Simply Sax, a saxophone quartet, will perform at the public library following the parade and Santa will also be on hand.
This year’s Christmas parade in Necedah will be held Saturday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.
Floats will be able to lineup beginning at 5:30 p.m. along 5th Street. This year’s theme is “It’s a Classic Christmas in Necedah.” The parade is sponsored by Necedah Fire & Rescue.
Spectators are encouraged to bring donations to the Necedah food pantry and new, packaged toys for Toys for Tykes. Donation drop boxes are also available in the lobby of the Bank of Mauston in Necedah, the Bank of Necedah, Necedah village/town hall and the fire station.
Dr. Bob’s Sound F-X, a mobile disc jockey service, will provide music during the parade.
Cookies and hot chocolate will also be provided at the Necedah Fire Station following the parade. Santa will be a featured guest along the parade route.
Deadline for float registration is Saturday, Dec. 3. Awards will be given to “best of show” and for first, second and third place floats. For more information, call 608-548-8268 or send an email to email@example.com.
