Bea demonstrated her commitment to the education of young people by endowing a scholarship in memory of her dear friend, Robert W. Kruschke. This scholarship, established in 2005, is among the largest given annually at Mauston High School to assist graduates with their post-high school education. It was Bea’s wish to have this gift remain anonymous until her death. Thus, the self-perpetuating Robert W. Kruschke Memorial Scholarship will enable worthy students to pursue their dream of education. In addition to the scholarship, Bea also made an anonymous gift to Mauston’s Hatch Public Library in memory of Kruschke, enabling the library to purchase materials for the hearing and vision-impaired. Both gifts will stand as inspirational legacy to Bea’s strong dedication to education and to her community.
