Rosemary Bauer, 84, passed Tuesday, Jan. 01, 2019.

Rosemary was born to Clifford Carpenter, and Marie Brooks Carpenter, Jan. 27, 1934 in Hillsboro.

Rosie was loved by everyone that knew her. She was a very strong hard headed woman who spoke her mind but had a very big heart. She was very devoted to her family and friends. She had a special touch of rocking her grandchildren and great grandchildren to sleep when nobody else could do it.

She loved playing cards with her family. No stakes were too high. She was an excellent cook and passed on many of her trade secrets to the lucky ones who paid attention Rosie was very active in the Eastern Star and held many offices at the local and state level. We will need to learn to live without her as she was one of a kind. As she always said, "When your number is up, it’s your time and don't cry because God has plans for you."

Rosemary graduated from Wonewoc Center in 1951. She married Philip S. Bauer Dec. 23, 1968, and they lived together in Mauston. Rosemary worked at Accounting and Bookkeeping.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Philip; children, Allan Gehri (Jennifer Gehri), David Gehri, Kathy Galvez (Timothy Galvez), Kathy Pokorney (Frank Pokorney), and James Bauer (Debbie Bauer); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; siblings, Dutch, Cookie, Maggie, Robert, Billy, Lorna.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Buck, John, Carp; and sisters, Betty and Laura; and grandsons, Tommy Riley and Aaron Riley.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the Crandall Funeral Home, 123 Elm St., Mauston. Eastern Star Funeral Service to follow at 2 p.m. at Crandall Funeral Home.
