Heinie’s Tavern in Mauston is offering up a classic dish for hungry customers: chicken wings.
“Our wings and our garlic cheese curds I would say are two of our favorites,” said Heinie’s Manager Tricia Noble. “We have breaded, we have boneless, and then we have naked wings… they have their own dipping sauces.”
Wings are available in orders of five, 10 and 15 at the prices of $5.00, $9.00 and $13.00 respectively. Larger orders are available as well with each wing after 15 at $0.75.
Dipping sauce flavors include barbeque, honey mustard, teriyaki, buffalo, ranch and a new addition of garlic parmesan.
Garlic cheddar curds are $5.50.
Originally opened as Heinie’s in 1953, Noble and Heinie’s Owner Guy Herro have been managing the place for nearly two years.
Herro and Noble have made a few bold changes, including an expansion of the original building, adding on about 900 square feet to accommodate more customers.
“It’s almost double the space,” Noble said.
The expansion includes an outdoor patio for the warmer seasons.
“We’re always remodelling something,” Herro said.
Heinie’s hosts Mauston’s Business After Five. At the last meeting, Herro said over 250 wings were ordered. Wings can be ordered to-go.
“Sometimes people call in 40-50 of them,” Herro said.
Heinie’s also offers unique daily specials.
“We’re always taking applications,” Noble said. “We never know… when we add hours and we add food items and things like that, we’re definitely going to be looking for quality employees.”
Heinie’s is open 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
