The week of April 23 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week. The Hatch Public Library gratefully welcomes volunteer service. Volunteer assistance allows Hatch Public Library to provide library services to the community that would not otherwise be available due to budgetary restraints or staff time limitations.
In 2016, volunteers at the Hatch Public Library logged 661 hours of service. These faithful and hard -working community members do many different jobs throughout the year. Volunteers organize and archive materials in the Heritage Room, they deliver books to local Senior living centers, they organize our books and work at our book sales, they assist library staff in preparing for programs, they clean books and toys, they set up and take down displays, they offer their own expertise as public programs, and countless other duties all around the Library. Even our Library Board of Trustees is made up of community members who have volunteered to serve.
Our volunteers give us their time, their ideas, and their energy. From the staff and Trustees at Hatch Public Library, “Thank you volunteers!”
