Bennie L Voigt, 78, of Mauston, passed away Oct. 23, 2017, surrounded by family.
Bennie was born June 25, 1939, in Mauston, where he grew up, graduated in 1957 and just recently celebrated his 60th class reunion.
Bennie married the love of his life Ranita in 1995.
Bennie worked for GM in Janesville for over 37 years. He also served in the military in 1962 and was honorably discharged. After his career at GM, he retired to his hometown of Mauston and worked part-time at Castle Rock Golf Course.
Bennie had a great life with love, family and friends. Bennie was an active member in his church. He was passionate about building things, hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Ranita; daughters, Cynthia (James), Michelle (Ken), Lynette (Bob) and Dianna (Mark); grandchildren, Mike, Morgan, Josie, Robyn, Chelsea, Steven, Hannah, Wyatt, Carrigan and Noah; great-grandchildren, Jace, Rilynn, Taytum and Kinsley; god-child, Brett; siblings, Bruce (Louise) Voigt, Bertha Voigt, Beverly Steiner, Boyd (Jeannie) Voigt and Barry (Marcia) Voigt. Bennie was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Bump and Bessie; brothers, Bill and Bob; and sisters, Betty and Bonnie.
A celebration of life was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 701 Grove St., Mauston, with a time of fellowship from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service with lunch following. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
