Joe Bauer, who ended the night with 16 points spoke to his team at halftime.
“I just told the guys ‘Keep getting to the rim, keep shooting, keep making chances for others and we’ll keep the lead,” Bauer said.
However, the team will not be celebrating for long. Saylor said the team will be practicing almost every day during the Christmas break. He said there is still a lot to work on, especially when it comes to sustaining the athlete’s energy during a game.
“We’re getting some things right but to be good you got to play hard and you just can’t have let down,” he said.
Bauer said energy is usually what gets the team motivated and gets them to “make shots and get people up and going.” The Golden Eagles next game is not until Jan. 3 against River Valley he said the team has to be humble and keep their minds focused on the next game.
“We got to keep our minds right, watch film, get to know the next team and keep on getting ready,” Bauer said.
