Beaver Dam Operations Committee heard an update on the dog area in the Patrick Parker Conley Skateboard/BMX Park which should open near the end of June.

Operations Committee Chairperson Robert Ballweg said the park is progressing. The city is waiting to hear back on the final cost for the fencing, however, rules and disposal stations are ready to be installed.

During the Administrative Committee meeting, Don Neuert, council president said he was contacted by someone outside of Beaver Dam interested in moving to the area. The person was specifically interested in the dog area. Neuert said he was happy to see this kind of interest from people outside of the area looking to relocate.

The dog area would be built on the opposite side from the skateboard area in Patrick Park Conley BMX/Skateboard Park and could include fencing, sally port gates, service entrances, disposal stations and seating.

In March, rules and guidelines were approved to for the park.

The city has set aside $19,000 for the construction of this dog area. A dog area already exists at Edgewater Park north of Beaver Dam.
