A 4-year-old jumped from a farm wagon onto a road and was struck by a vehicle and killed in Columbia County, authorities said.
At about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, emergency responders were sent to Haynes Road in the town of Marcellon after a 911 call reported the child being struck by the vehicle, Capt. Todd Horn of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful, Horn said.
The vehicle driver, a 47-year-old woman from Pardeeville, was cooperative with investigators at the scene of the crash. No enforcement action was reported, and the incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, Horn said.

Wilson's family has for weeks demanded he be returned to the hospital for better treatment after he was shot by two Division of Criminal Investigation agents in early February.Â
No decision has been reached yet about whether state agents will face charges for the shooting.
The four-month probe into the shooting of Quadren Wilson was led by the Dane County Sheriff's Office since the state Department of Criminal Investigation, which usually investigates police shootings, was involved in the incident.Â
But the most recent of the search warrants states that no weapon was found in the car Wilson was driving.
District Attorney Ismael Ozanne previously said in July that he would release a decision on the Quadren Wilson shooting in the "next couple of weeks."Â
