A rural Baraboo man was arrested Friday after he allegedly pistol whipped a woman in a home in the town of Delton.

Raul Reynosa, 26, was tentatively charged with battery with substantial risk of great bodily harm and causing injury by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon, the Sauk County Sheriff's Office said.

Reynosa is scheduled to have a bail hearing on Monday.

The Sheriff's Office said:

A call came in at about 6:30 a.m. Friday regarding a fight at a housing development in the town of Delton. A short time later, more reports came in, this time regarding shots being fired, with the same person allegedly involved in both incidents.

Arriving deputies and detectives learned the female victim had been taken to a local hospital by private vehicle, after she allegedly had been struck in the face several times with a loaded gun.

The shots reportedly were fired from the same gun used to pistol whip the woman's face and head, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted in the investigation by the Ho_Chunk Tribal Police Department and the Baraboo Police Department.
