On September 4, the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety held a public hearing on bills that would strengthen OWI laws. Dale Schmidt, Dodge County Sheriff, stressed the severity of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated and highlighted that, "far too many individuals feel that OWI isn't that big of a deal...It's a culture, we need to change that culture that is dangerous."
