The Welsh Prairie Livewires 4-H Club organized the sixth annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk on March 3 in Cambria. More than $8,500 was raised at the event, which included 135 run/walkers from the area.

Funds are used for the 4-H Club Shamrock Shuffle Scholarship Awards given to qualifying graduating 4-H members. A portion is used for the 4-H club’s budget to provide for camps, trips, recreational activities, awards and more. Each year, charity recipients are chosen to receive partial funds from the race. The three top 2018 charity recipients were Cambria’s Jane Morgan Memorial Library, Randolph-Cambria-Friesland FFA and Wisconsin Badger Honor Flight.

The success of this fundraiser is made possible by the community effort of sponsors and 4-H club families, helping to make Welsh Prairie Livewires such a proactive 4-H club.
