Pauquette Park project site

Pictured, with the pavilion design rendering, at the Pauquette Park project site are members of General Engineering Company and the Portage Service Club Association.

General Engineering Company made a $9,000 in-kind donation to the Portage Service Club Association, representing two years of services rendered in consulting and planning for the Pauquette Park project. The project incorporates a multi-use pavilion, handicapped-accessible restrooms and sidewalks, plus a new trail along the Wisconsin River that will connect with the Ice Age Trail and the city’s paths project running through Portage.

The PSCA is comprised of member representatives from Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Optimist, Greater Portage Youth Educational Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Women’s Civic League and the American Legion — all Portage civic service organizations. To date, they have raised more than $125,000 for the current Pauquette Park project.

The final pavilion design is 75 feet wide by 35 feet deep. This size is large enough to seat an entire chamber orchestra, with ample space for other artistic presentations, including drama, music and dance. There is room for outdoor weddings, family reunions, picnics and craft shows.
