It was a difficult season for both the Lodi and Poynette volleyball teams.

The Blue Devils and Pumas each finished below .500 overall and in the bottom half of the always grueling Capitol North Conference. However, that didn’t stop some Blue Devils and Pumas from making an impact as the teams combined for four all-conference honorees when the league recently released its season-ending awards.

Leading the way between the two squads was Lodi’s Amanda Miller, as the junior garnered first-team honors. Lodi, which finished 8-28 overall, including a 2-8 mark in Capitol North play, often turned to Miller to provide the decisive blow on offense.

The 5-foot-8 outside hitter, who earned honorable mention status last year, compiled a team-high 242 kills, including a .326 hitting percentage. Miller also led the team in digs with 226, while adding 31 aces and 22 blocks.

Serving up the majority of Miller’s putaways was sophomore Jaden Kolinski, who earned an honorable mention selection. The 5-8 setter racked up an impressive 531 assists to lead the Blue Devils.

Kolinski also had an impact on the back line and at the net. She led Lodi with a 49 aces, compiling a .910 serve percentage, while also leading the way with 37 blocks, including nine solo. She added 121 digs.

Poynette seniors Johanna Hutchinson and Hanna Walters each earned honorable mention honors. Hutchinson, an honorable mention selection last year, was one of the Pumas’ top attackers.

Making the switch to outside hitter, she had 126 kills on the year, including 45 in league play, averaging 4.7 kills per match. Hutchinson added 120 digs (4.6 digs per match) and 27 blocks.

Walters was key in the back line at libero after starting the season at outside hitter. Despite suffering an in jury and missing a quarter of the team’s matches, she tallied 275 digs over the year.

Walters had 167 digs during Capitol North play and averaged 10.2 digs per game for a Poynette team that went 9-18 overall and 0-10 in league play.
