Between 8:06 a.m. Friday and 7:51 a.m. Monday, police responded to 85 calls.
Portage High School: Police on Friday at 10:02 a.m. issued three separate citations for habitual truancy.
Walmart: Police on Friday at 4:17 p.m. stopped Annie Petrovic, 35, of Packwaukee, for driving with an improperly restrained juvenile. Petrovic was cited for operating a vehicle after revocation as a 16th offense. The vehicle was towed.
Walmart: Police on Friday at 5:01 p.m. responded to a report of a man using the self-checkout aisle, covering up the barcode of $67 bed sheets with the code for a $1.17 item, leaving, then re-entering the store to return the sheets in exchange for the value of the sheets and tax in store credit, totaling $71.08. Andrew Kripps, 26, of Pardeeville, was issued a misdemeanor citation for retail theft.
County Highway CX and Silver Lake Drive: Police on Saturday at 12:06 a.m. stopped Roland L. Jones, 40, of Elkhart, Indiana, for speeding. After registering a .084 blood-alcohol level on a preliminary breath test, Elkhart was arrested and cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated as a first offense. Passengers Bobbi S. Riddle, 47, of Sun Prairie, and Jason C. Craig, 44, of Merrillville, Indiana, each were cited for possession of an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle.
East Cook Street: Police on Saturday at 2:11 p.m. responded to a report of an 8-year-old child that had been hit with a belt, after which Stephanie D. Adams, 27, of Portage, was issued a citation for reckless injury to a child.
West Cook Street: Police on Sunday at 2:33 a.m. responded to a report of a fight where Logan Poppe, 22, of Portage; Brian Gaffney, 31, of LaCrosse; Adam Gaffney, 39, of Portage; and Zachary Johnston, 22, of Portage; were each issued city ordinance citations for disorderly conduct. Johnston was arrested for violation of probation.
