Between 8:51 a.m. on Thursday and 12:20 a.m. on Monday, police responded to 124 calls, including the following:
Jackson Street: Police at 8:51 a.m. on Thursday responded to a fire at a residence and discovered the fire was out prior to arrival. Police arrested Carnel D. Johnson, 32, of Portage, for obstructing/resisting an officer after he displayed ID and Social Security cards with different information. Police reports indicate Johnson had previously offered information without backup records on Jan. 12.
Schultz Street: Police at 1:06 p.m. on Thursday responded to a report of fraudulent charges for excess online computer repair services dating back to 2016. Police advised a female resident to contact local computer technical support experts and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Village Road: Police at 3:37 p.m. on Thursday cited Christopher D. Svehlek, 40, of Grand Marsh, for a second offense of operating after suspension.
New Pinery Road: Police at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday cited Bryan E. Watts, 35, of Montello, for a second offense of operating after suspension.
Pauquette Street and East Wisconsin Street: Police at 7:02 p.m. on Thursday cited Jordan Charles Newsome, 35, of Madison, for a fourth offense of operating after suspension.
East Collins Street: Police at 7:50 a.m. on Friday reported an open investigation into possible disorderly conduct at Portage High School. The suspect is a 15-year-old male juvenile student from Westfield.
MacFarlane Road and West Carroll Street: Police at 10:01 a.m. on Friday stopped a vehicle because the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Police issued citations to two Cambria men. Brandon D. Paul, 19, was cited for not wearing a seat belt and a seventh offense of operating after suspension. His father, Brian K. Paul, 48, was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
New Pinery Road and East Collins Street: Police at 4:44 p.m. on Friday cited a 17-year-old male juvenile from Greenfield for failure to yield while making a left turn.
New Pinery Road and East Collins Street: Police at 6:44 p.m. on Friday cited Michael A. Ott, 41, of Montello, for failure to yield from an alley while accessing a non-highway.
River Street: Police at 12:49 a.m. on Saturday witnessed a vehicle drive over a curb and snowbank and conducted a traffic stop. Police arrested Melissa R. Bradica, 36, of Portage, for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. A breathalyzer test indicated Bradica had a blood-alcohol content of 0.229.
Hamilton Street: Police at 1:37 a.m. on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old Portage male for strangulation and suffocation and domestic disorderly conduct.
West Wisconsin Street: Police at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday arrested Nena R. Marshall, 34, of Portage, for domestic disorderly conduct and bail jumping. Police also arrested Ashley Vasquez, 28, of Portage, on a body only warrant.
Jackson Street: Police at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday transported Ashley Vasquez, 28, of Portage, to the Columbia County Jail. Officers on scene at a residence located three syringes and $520 in cash.
James Street and West Wisconsin Street: Police at 11:33 a.m. on Saturday arrested Michael J. Rataczak, 29, of Pardeeville, for felony bail jumping and a second offense of operating after suspension.
Wauona Trail: Police at 12:16 a.m. on Sunday arrested a 33-year-old Portage man for domestic disorderly conduct.
Highway 33 and Stonehaven Drive: Police at 3:46 p.m. on Sunday cited Michael A. Rogge, 35, of Fox Lake for a third offense of operating after suspension and for driving without proof of insurance.
West Wisconsin Street and Armstrong Street: Police at 6:26 p.m. on Sunday arrested Andrew F. Lochner, 40, of Portage, for a second offense of operating while intoxicated, a criminal first charge of operating after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also cited Lochner for open intoxicants and passenger Rebecca L. McChesney, 39, of Montello, for possession of drug paraphernalia.
