Between 9:24 a.m. on March 7 and 5:58 a.m. on March 13, police responded to 184 calls, including the following:
DeWitt Street: Police at 8:58 p.m. on March 7 arrested a 31-year-old Portage male for domestic disorderly conduct and placed him on a probation hold.
Hamilton Street: Police at 9:26 p.m. on March 7 responded to a report of fraud. A 57-year-old Portage man said a caller claiming to be an Internal Revenue Service agent said he would be arrested if he did not comply with instructions. The Portage man said he bought and sent codes for $5,200 in Google Play cards to the caller.
East Cook Street and Jackson Street: Police at 8:40 a.m. on March 9 cited Jenny M. Petri, 39, of Rio, for a 14th offense of operating after license revocation.
West Pleasant Street: Police at 4:12 a.m. on March 10 responded to a two-vehicle crash and cited Samantha J. Strait, 33, of Portage, for failure to yield the right of way.
East Wisconsin Street and Brooks Street: Police at 6:25 p.m. on March 10 responded to a two-vehicle crash and cited Lewis J. Linzmeier, 46, of Columbus, for following behind another vehicle too closely.
West Cook Street: Police at 9:09 a.m. on March 11 arrested two Portage residents on warrants after a passenger fled a traffic stop. Passenger Krystal L. Belmonte, 29, was also arrested for obstructing or resisting an officer. Driver Joseph K. Holzberger, 38, was cited for a fourth offense of operating after suspension.
Eastridge Drive: Police at 2:51 p.m. on March 11 arrested Marjorie L. Crossman, 57, of Portage, for violation of probation/parole and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. A preliminary breath test indicated Crossman had a 0.20 blood alcohol level.
West Wisconsin Street and River Street: Police at 10:20 a.m. on March 12 responded to a two-vehicle crash and cited James P. Vilstrup, 70, of Pardeeville, for unsafe backing.
