One man was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a semi truck in the town of Otsego on Monday afternoon.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway A when at around 4 p.m., a Pontiac G6 driving north on Highway A ran a stop sign and collided with the trailer of an eastbound semi truck.
The driver of the Pontiac was taken from the scene by Medflight, according to a statement released by Sheriff Dennis Richards.
The crash remains under investigation, though, according to Monday’s release, alcohol and failure to stop are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
The names of the drivers have not been released.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Rio Emergency Medical Services, Rio Fire Department, Doylestown Fire Department and Sun Prairie paramedics.
