This letter is to the Portage Parks Department. It's probably a matter of lack of communication, however, it is clear some of your staff don't care. It's just a 7 to 4 job.
On the north side of Gunderson Park a few years back some extra trees were planted. No protection was given to them. After my complaining, some nice protection was set up for the remaining tree by your folks, I presume.
However, some unthinking do-gooder, evidently when mowing, decided grass growing inside the enclosure was bad and the protection was removed. It sure made it easier to make things neat.
Now that same unthinking person should go to that tree and cut it flush to the ground, since a deer has removed all the bark. Nice going, Portage public employees.
