I must commend and admire the Columbia County 911 Dispatch Center for the fine job they do during stressful situations. I was listening on Dec. 31 in the afternoon when the water on the roads froze and the snow began. There were multiple slide-offs, roll-overs and accidents on county roads and the interstate. The radio was buzzing.

The two ladies on duty at the time did a tremendous job in keeping everything organized and were very professional in handling calls. It seemed that all available units -- fire, police, sheriff, EMS -- were all out on calls, but these two found ways to help those in need. Thanks for the fine service coming from the dispatch center.
