I want to give heartfelt congratulations to a very deserving individual. Dale Gray has been the softball coach at Wisconsin Dells for the past 31 years and has been elected into the Wisconsin Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. I can’t think of a more deserving person to be awarded such a great honor.

I met him when I became the Portage softball coach in 2000. He quickly became the coach I most enjoyed competing against. I always admired and respected his coaching style and teams. I received many coaching tips and advice that I used over the years.

There is much more to being a good coach than wins and losses. He understands and is outstanding at teaching the game of softball and incorporating life lessons that his student-athletes can take forward into their lives. I never saw a coach exhibit sportsmanship better during and after games, no matter if he won or lost.
