June 6 – Meet the Bee Keepers program at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo. Check at the park’s bee hive located at the Nature Center, from 1 to 2 p.m. For information call 608-356-8301.

June 6 – Stories at the Marsh: Walking Sticks program at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center in Horicon. Come learn about this insect from 10 to 11 a.m. and then go on a walk to see if you can find one. For information call 920-387-7889.

June 8 – Women’s Archery Clinic at the MacKenzie Center in Poynette, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is free of charge and open to all women, ages 8 and older. Registration is required. For information or to register, call 608-635-8105.

June 8 – Exploration Station: Bugs program at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo from 10 a.m. to noon. Program is open to kids of all ages and will take place at the park’s Nature Center. For information call 608-356-8301.

June 8 – Guided kayak tour of Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Space is limited and registration is required. Kayak are available to rent for $25 for a single or $45 for a double. Tour leaves from the north shore. To register or reserve a kayak call 608-356-8301 ext. 140.

June 8-9 – Scouting weekend at the Marsh Haven Nature Center in Waupun. All scouts in uniform receive free admission. For information call 920-324-5818.

June 9 – Exploration Station: Tracks program, from 10 a.m. to noon at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo. Stop in at the park’s Nature Center to learn about some of the animals in the park. For information call 608-356-8301.

June 12 – The Baraboo River chapter of Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO) is holding a fishing event from 5 to 8 p.m. at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo. The event will happen at the park’s boat landing on the north shore. Snacks will be provided and some fishing gear will be available. The chapter will also hold its brief monthly meeting. June 12 – Geocaching 101 program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center in Horicon. For information call 920-387-7889.

June 13 – Free Community Connection hike from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Marsh Haven Nature Center in Waupun. This easy hike will make frequent stops to monitor the over 40 next boxes at Marsh Haven. For information call 920-324-5818.

June 13 – Archery program at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center in Horicon. Drop in form 10 to 11:30 for a chance to use equipment for target archery. Program is for ages 5 and older. For information call 920-387-7889.

June 15 – Northern zone smallmouth bass season goes from catch-and-release to daily bag limits. Check current regulations for bag and size limits.

June 16 – Yellow perch season opens on Lake Michigan with a bag limit of five.

June 16 – Roxbury Valley Trap Club’s 22nd Annual Kippley Shoot and Chicken BBQ. The merchandise trap shoot begins at 9 a.m. The chicken BBQ begins at 11:30 a.m. The club is located midway between Highway 12 and Roxbury on Highway Y.

June 21-23 – Baraboo River Chapter of Kids and Mentors Outdoors Campout at Castle Rock County Park. Anyone interested should contact Greg Wagner at 608-477-0641.
