Oct. 6-14 – Special deer hunt open to people with disabilities who have a disabled hunting permit. The hunts are held by landowners who have agreed to sponsor the hunters on their property. Hunters must have registered to participate at a designated sponsor location by Sept. 1.

Oct. 11 – Public trapping auction for the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area and the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center, located at N7725 Highway 28 in Horicon. There are 25 permits available for the 2018 sharp-tailed grouse season. Permits are only available in Game Management Unit 8. Oct. 20 – Candlelight Halloween Hike at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Go on a 1-mile, torch-lit hike, show off your costume by the campfire and listen to the songs of Campfire Kevin.
