June 16 – Yellow perch season opens on Lake Michigan with a bag limit of five. … Northern zone smallmouth bass season goes from catch-and-release to daily bag limits. Check current regulations for bag and size limits.

June 16-17 – Try-Some-Archery program at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on both days. Drop in near the North Shore boat launch and try your hand with a bow and arrow. June 17 – Roxbury Valley Trap Club’s 21st Annual Kippley Shoot and Chicken BBQ. Shooting begins at 9 a.m. with the chicken BBQ starting at 11:30 a.m. The club is located midway between Highway 12 and Roxbury on County Road T.

June 19 – Back to Basics: Frogging, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. You may want to bring an extra pair of clothes as you go searching for frogs. For information go to www.horiconmarsh.org.

June 20 – Junior Wildlife Biologist: Nesting Birds program from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. Learn some of the ways biologists identify and record bird nesting. Open some nest boxes and do your own research. For information go to www.horiconmarsh.org.

June 21 – Stories at the Marsh program from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. Read stories looking at an ant farm and search for ants outside. Program best for ages 10 and younger. For information go to www.horiconmarsh.org.

June 21 – Learn to Fish program from 9 to 11 a.m. at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo. Do activities to teach the basics of fishing before going out to catch some fish. If you are 16 or older, you will need a fishing licences. All equipment and bait will be provided. Meet at the North Shore Boat Launch. June 23 – Stuck on the Rocks Rope Rescue Program presented by the Baraboo District Ambulance Service, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo. Find out what happens when there is an emergency on the bluffs of Devil’s Lake. Program happens outside the Chateau on the north shore. July 1 – Training dogs by pursuing bear allowed through August 31. Note exception on DNR lands; see current Wisconsin bear hunting regulations for rules.
