Oct. 20 – Candlelight Halloween Hike at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Go on a 1-mile, torch-lit hike, show off your costume by the campfire and listen to the songs of Campfire Kevin. Oct. 23 – Bates LIVE from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center, located at N7725 Highway 28 in Horicon. Come nose-to-nose with a fruit bat and learn from a bat biologist. For information call 920-387-7889.

Oct. 27 – Wild Birds of Prey program, starting at 1 p.m. at the Marsh Haven Nature Center, located at W10145 State Highway 49 in Waupun. You will be introduced to Wisconsin’s raptors though a photo presentation, mounted specimens and live birds. For information call 920-324-5818.

Oct. 27 – Guilded half-mile hike to view birds at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Meet at the Egret Trail boardwalk parking lot off of the refuge auto tour off Highway 49. For information call 920-387-2658 ext. 124.

Oct. 31 – Lake trout season closes on waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan and their tributaries. … Deadline to purchase Lake Winnebago system sturgeon spearing licenses.

Nov. 1 – Wild ginseng season closes.

Nov. 3 – Beaver trapping season opens in the northwest zone (A), northeast zone (B) through April 30 and in the southern zone (C) through March 31. … Otter trapping season opens in all zones and runs through April 30 in the North zone and through March 31 in the Central zone and South zone.

Nov. 3-4 – Delton Sportsmen’s Club Hunters Breakfast and Sight-In Weekend. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. for $5. The range sight-in will be from 8 a.m. to dusk on both days. The range will be open to all shooters with deer hunting firearms. The club will also be taking donations of non-perishable food items for the Bridgepoint Food Pantry of Wisconsin Dells.
