Reedsburg Public Library boasts nearly 65 open hours per week, including hours on Sundays. However, even when the library is closed, users can get 24/7 access to current information on a number of topics, as well as information about the library, through its home page, easily found at reedsburglibrary.org.
Visitors to the web page will find a helpful slider at the top advertising upcoming events at the library. Further information on programs and a calendar of events is also located at the left side of the page. Click “more” for additional calendar pages. If you wish, you may be added to the Library’s “mailing list” to receive email updates. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to do this, and also to suggest programs for the library.
The Library’s home page is also used to provide the community with information on timely topics. During the flooding event of late summer, links were provided to the websites of local and federal resources for homeowners. This month, links to the official Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Internal Revenue Service sites will help users find the tax information and forms they need, or even file online. It should be noted that the library has also received paper copies of the basic Wisconsin and federal forms for pick up at the library.
Also, many popular online resources can be accessed directly through the library’s home page. One click directs the user to Wisconsin’s Digital Library, the library’s online resource for free downloads of digital ebooks and audiobooks. The “Flipster” icon leads users to online magazines and periodicals. Consumer Reports and Novelist Plus round out the Library’s most well received databases.
After clicking on the appropriate icon, type in your library card number to enter the site.
Reference USA is a new online research tool that may be found on the library’s web page. Click on the icon and enter your library card number. Search for information on millions of businesses, as well as residential addresses and phone numbers for individuals. Also new to Reedsburg Public Library’s homepage is a link “Resources for Job Seekers,” that connects the user with employment resources and websites provided by South Central Library System.
Any information you find through the Library’s web page or online, can be printed at the library remotely from your home computer or wireless device. In the center of the home page, find the heading for “Web and Wireless” printing to get started.
