Reedsburg Fire Department Secretary/Treasurer Troy Thompson was happy with the turnout at the fire departments 45th annual spaghetti supper even with a decrease in attendance from last year.

Thompson said 2,320 spaghetti dinners were served at the April 23 event. About 2,400 were served last year. Thompson said the event raised about $13,000 to help with equipment purchases for the department.

“We are still very happy with the community support in our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Thompson said.

Fire Chief Craig Douglas said it takes about 150 volunteers to coordinate the event from cooking spaghetti, running the drive thru and cleaning up. He said members of the fire department, their families, retired firemen, the Reedsburg Area High School freshman boys baseball team, Pineview Elementary School Student Senate and a group from Villari’s Self Defense volunteered at the event.
