Reedsburg High School's class of 1951 held its 60th class reunion Aug. 20 at Reedsburg Country Club.

Pastor Ray Harms gave the dinner prayer. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by 67 guests (41 classmates and friends). Greetings were received from Eldon Thies, Lenore Schmidt Sherd, La Dell Thies Shimniok and former classmate Sheila Flynn Hoover.

Lyle Baumgarten read an article from the May 1951 school newspaper, The Purple Banner. Dick Skinner, Marty Alwin, Bessie Kraemer, Jack Lucht and Ellie Montgomery won door prizes.

The class of 1951 had 112 members; 41 classmates attended and 48 have passed.

Jerry Gant addressed the class, asking for ideas on how best to honor Walter Krueger, who recently passed. Walter was one of the highest-ranking enlisted men in service. It was decided that Bill Gant will contact the Veterans of Foreign Wars regarding a monumental block or tile.

The class will reunite in 2013.
