Who could ask for a more perfect day for the 67th Annual Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast? Sunday’s weather was picture perfect allowing the community and surrounding communities to gather for a delicious homemade breakfast and catch up with family and friends. There were many activities to explore after breakfast. The fire trucks, Med-Flight helicopter, and ambulance service always gather a crowd. We thank all of our service providers for protecting our community. The helicopter rides, face painting, educational booths, kettle corn and approximately 40 planes were all part of the fun. I am sorry if I missed something, I was busy buttering toast, ha ha, but the sound of laughter and conversation filled the air all morning.
On behalf of the Reedsburg-Western Sauk County Rotary Club I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came to the breakfast. We appreciate your contribution to this major fundraiser, which allows us to support many causes throughout the community. I would like to thank those who also contributed to the Polio Plus effort to eradicate polio, a Rotary International initiative reaching out to aid the world.
In addition, I would like to extend a special thank you to the Reedsburg Municipal Airport for the use of the hanger and their support, to Lake’s Gas Company for donating the gas to cook the breakfast, to the Sauk County Dairy Breakfast committee for the use of their equipment, to the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center for the use of their bus, to Davis Home Furnishings and Flooring for the carpet under foot for those serving food and to all the members of the community who volunteered to help in the dining room, the serving line, flipping pancakes, making eggs, cooking sausage, shuttling customers, selling tickets, and a number of other details that go into putting on such a great event. Thank you to the football players and coaches who helped set things up and take them down. If you were part of this event in any way, I want you to know that you are indeed appreciated.
The entire Rotary club is grateful for your help and promises to continue to give back to the community in the tradition of Rotary, Service Above Self.
We truly live in a great community.
