Divine Mercy celebration April 28

Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated starting at 12:30 p.m. April 28 at St. Aloysius Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City.

There will be a movie shown at 12:30 p.m. in the church basement; the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be at 2 p.m. in the church; Eucharistic Adoration at 3 p.m.; then a Eucharist procession and benediction will follow. The Taste of Divine Mercy starts at 4 p.m. in the school gym.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available in the church during Mass and throughout the afternoon with four priests available until all are heard; the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung and all may venerate the Divine Mercy image, the first class relic of St. Faustina and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Divine Mercy images and materials and assisted listening devices will be available to all.

The Taste of Divine Mercy will follow at 4 p.m. in the school gym with the winner named at 6 p.m. Bids will be taken towards an assortment of delicious foods and a silent auction. All proceeds from the celebration will be geared toward the upkeep of the chapel. The food will be provided by parishioners with special recipes to share; main dishes, appetizers, sides, soups, and desserts. Dishes in each category will compete against each other and votes will be based on monetary donations.
