Sauk Prairie's Logan Perry swims the 100-yard breaststroke during a dual-meet win at Baraboo on Jan. 2.

The Sauk Prairie co-op boys swim team placed fifth out of 23 teams at Saturday's invitational at Schroeder YMCA Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.

The Eagles compiled a team score of 180 to finish behind Madison West (358.5), Waukesha South co-op (267), Brookfield co-op (250) and Middleton (226).

While they didn't win any events, the Eagles swam to three runner-up finishes.

Desmon Sachtjen placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.81) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (:52.12.), while Ayden Frey added a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (:52.67).

The Eagles nearly took the 200 medley relay, as Sachtjen, Frey, Allan Brickl and Jake Guentherman touched the wall in 1:35.98 to finish just behind Madison West (1:35.58).

Frey, Guentherman, Reese Drager and Ben Chao used a time of 1:28.56 to place third in the 200 freestyle relay.

Sauk Prairie visited Waunakee on Tuesday for a Badger North Conference dual. The Eagles will compete in an invitational at Middleton High School on Saturday.
