The Sauk Prairie boys tennis team went 1-1 in their most recent Badger North Conference dual meets.

The Eagles suffered a 5-2 home loss to Waunakee on April 18 before bouncing back for Tuesday’s 5-2 road win over DeForest.

Both of Sauk Prairie’s wins against Waunakee came in singles play. Kelby Mack picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Reed Christian at No. 2 singles, while Tarren Nimmow earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Collin Klug at No. 3 singles.

The Warriors took No. 1 and No. 4 singles matches and swept the three doubles matches in straight sets.

The situation flipped Tuesday, as Sauk Prairie swept doubles play while taking two of the four singles matches against DeForest.

Mack and Nimmow teamed up to notch a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mason Hoffman and Chris Kennedy at No. 1 doubles. Sam Humbracht and Alex Kinnamon added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Isaac Green and Max Sailor recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

The singles wins came from Noah Wankerl and Chris Leatherberry. Wankerl earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Leatherberry notched a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles.

The Eagles will host a Badger North dual against Beaver Dam on Thursday before competing in an invitational at Verona High School on Friday and Saturday.
