A two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 12 and County Highway PF in the Village of Prairie du Sac resulted in one death May 14.
The 5:45 p.m. crash involved a white Chevy sedan and a Chevy SUV. The SUV struck the sedan on the passenger side of the vehicle.
“The driver of the of the Chevy sedan was transported to UW Hospital with serious injuries,” said Sauk Prairie Police Department Sergeant Josh Sherman in a press release. “The driver of the Chevy SUV was transported to the Sauk Prairie Hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.”
The individuals involved were wearing seat belts during the crash.
“Speed does not appear to be a factor,” Sherman said.
County Highway PF was temporarily shut down to traffic and Highway 12 was restricted while an investigation was being conducted.
The incident remains under investigation by the Sauk Prairie Police Department and the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department. The Prairie du Sac Fire Department, Sauk Prairie EMS, Baraboo EMS and paremedic unit and the Sauk County Coroner’s Office assisted with the call.
Names of the individuals involved in the crash are being withheld pending notification of family.
