Sauk Prairie police and public works employees had their hands full with flooding March 14. Warmer temperatures caused the mass of snow and ice accumulated over the winter to melt rapidly, resulting in flooding in some areas of the Villages of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac.
Police were called to monitor several barricaded streets in both villages that experienced high levels of water, while a handful of residents could be seen outside their homes with water pumps trying to keep the rising water at bay.
Numerous roads in and around Sauk Prairie have been closed due to high water. Click here to see a current map of road closures in Sauk County.
