The Sauk Prairie High School boys golf team took 18 strokes off its team total in a week.
The Eagles used a four-player team score of 357 strokes to place fourth out of 10 teams at Monday’s Sauk Prairie Invitational at Lake Wisconsin Country Club in Prairie du Sac. Verona shot a 337 to win the title, followed by Baraboo (351) and Madison Memorial (353).
The performance came six days after Sauk Prairie shot a 375 to finish last at the Badger North Conference mini-meet April 16 at Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Spencer Breunig paced the Eagles on Monday. The senior shot an 87, including a back-nine 41, on the par-70 course, taking five strokes off his 92 during the mini-meet.
Jake Vieth used a front-nine 42 to finish with an 88. Aaron Frey took eight strokes off his 97 from last week, using a back-nine 41 to shoot an 89. Tyler Ramaker shot a 93, 11 strokes lower than last week, to round out the Sauk Prairie scoring.
Monroe’s Noah Becker shot a 74 to win individual medalist honors.
The Eagles were back in action Wednesday at Old Hickory Golf Club in Beaver Dam for the third of four Badger North mini-meets this season.
