The Sauk Prairie wrestling team emerged from a tight pack at the top to capture the team championship of Saturday’s WIAA Division 1 individual sectional tournament at Tomah.
The Eagles scored 118 points and qualified five individuals for the state tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday at the Kohl Center.
Holmen finished just behind with 114.5 points and Reedsburg was third with 112.5. Holmen and Reedsburg each qualified four wrestlers for state.
Of Sauk Prairie’s five qualifiers, three won sectional titles. Leading the way was 138-pound senior Drew Fjoser, who took a 12-6 decision over Tomah’s Hunter Pierce in the final to improve to 33-4 on the year.

Fjoser took third at state at 138 last year.
Also for Sauk Prairie, junior Zeke Smith (42-3) won the individual title at 106 and senior Logan Moore (19-2) won at 220.
Reedsburg’s qualifiers included two sectional champs: Senior Trey Haugen (37-5) at 182 and senior Dalton Hahn (45-1) at 195. Hahn was the state runner-up last year.
Madison La Follette senior Francesco Schiro (42-0) won the sectional title at 120. He was fifth at state last year.
Both of Waunakee’s state qualifiers were sectional champs: senior Nate Lorenz (42-2) at 152 and junior Alan Olkowski (40-5) at 285.
Baraboo sophomore Pablo Ramirez (46-5) won at 126 pounds.
