After being shut out statistically in Week 1, Tanner McEvoy hauled in his first catch for the Tampa Bay Vipers.
McEvoy caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Taylor Cornellius in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Seattle Dragons at CenturyLink Field. McEvoy, a 6-foot-6 receiver who also played quarterback and safety at UW, was targeted twice in the game.
Cornellius’ Hail Mary pass on the game’s final play was intercepted, dropping the Vipers to 0-2 with a 17-9 loss. They’ll host the Houston Roughnecks (2-0) next week at 1 p.m. Saturday on ABC.
