MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING: Portage has 29 top-4 finishers at Todd Jewel Memorial Tournament

The Portage Middle School wrestling team continued to roll as the Warriors had a successful day at the Todd Jewel Memorial Tournament on Saturday in Richland Center.

The Warriors had 29 top-4 finishers in the 11-team tournament, highlighted by five first place finishers.

Leading the way for the Warriors was Lowell Arnold, Mitchell Butson, Riley Hibner, Cooper Roberts and Isaac Paul each won their respective weight divisions.

The five wrestlers combined for eight pin fall victories, with Arnold picking up three, and Butson and Paul earning two each.

Along with the five first place finishes, Ethan Bleich, Jack Callen, Nathan Cohee, Ozias gaytan, Jason Kruger, Ryan Maier, David Williams, Hayden Steinle, Seth Williams, Chase Beckett and Breydon Miller each took second place. The Warriors also had eight third place and five fourth place finishers.

Portage will look to continue its hot streak today when they take on Stoughton in a dual meet.
