University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate Peter Culver joined the Wisconsin Dells Events as a reporter Monday. Culver previously worked in the sports department with the Wisconsin State Journal, and also worked on the web desk for WISC-TV in Madison.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to jump-start my career with the Dells Events,” Culver said. “This is a fascinating community, with great stories to chase all around the area.”

Weeklies lead Jason Cuevas said he was excited to bring Culver onto the Dells Events staff.

“We feel with his education and previous news background, Culver will make a fine addition to the paper,” Cuevas said.

Culver graduated from the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication in August 2018, finishing college with an award-winning magazine feature story following the Badger volleyball program. After starting in part-time sports reporting with the State Journal, Culver looked to the Dells Events for the opportunity to expand his reporting horizons.

“Much of the work I’ve done in journalism has been in arts, sports and human interest,” Culver said. “I’m excited to do more work in hard news and community issues.”

When he’s not chasing down his latest story, Culver enjoys reading, swimming, playing video games and spending time with friends and family.

Former Events reporter Christopher Jardine has moved to, sister publication, the Juneau County Star-Times.
