Try 3 months for $3

Richard L. Herriot, 71, of Kaukauna, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Adams, to the late Robert and Gwendolyn (Steffen) Herriot. His fondest memories were growing up on the family farm with his 12 brothers and sisters. Richard served aboard the USS Enterprise from 1967-71. He also served in the Wisconsin National Guard for two years in the early ‘80s.

He married Toni Thompson on Oct. 11, 1975, in Wisconsin Dells. While working for Geenen Explosives, they moved to Freedom in 1988, and bought their family home in Kaukauna in 1992. Later, he worked for Paschke Drilling and Blasting until retiring in 2004. In his younger years, he loved to draw and write stories and poetry. More recently, he loved to ride his scooter with Toni on area trails, especially the Konkapot Trail in Kaukauna. All of those who knew him will remember his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Toni; children, Christian (Jenna Freeman) Herriot of Madison, Erica (fiance Steven Novak) Herriot of Little Chute, Kerry (fiance Taylor Wilson) Herriot of Kaukauna; grandson, Kingston; brothers, David (Shari Davis), Patrick (Vickie), Floyd (Kay), Neal Herriot; sisters, Pam (fiance Kurt Zimmerman) Herriot, Dawn Pokszyk, Deidre Lalicata, Holly (Peter) Kolchalka, Mary (Nicholas) Schneider, Heidi Herriot, Heather Herriot; brothers-in-law, Gary (Cindy) and Jon Thompson; and many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
