Ruth Raedel, 85, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at St. Clare Meadows, Baraboo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, with the Rev. Craig Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Ruth was born Aug. 28, 1933, in McFarland, the daughter of John and Martha (Ronni) Alsmo. She married Lawrence Raedel on April 7, 1956, worked at McFarland State Bank before moving and working at Bank of Wisconsin Dells in 1965 for the next 37 years and retired in 2001. She loved to crochet, make dolls, and she loved to bake; her specialty was Norwegian foods like lefse. She was also a wonderful farm wife helping her husband with chores.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Keith (Carolyn) Raedel and Kevin (Karen) Raedel, both of Wisconsin Dells; brothers, Kenneth (Marlene) Alsmo of Windsor, and James Alsmo of Madison; sister, Margaret Ellestadt-Stolen of Madison; sisters-in-law, Amy Alsmo of McFarland, Winnett Alsmo of Madison, and Helen Meske of North Freedom; four grandchildren, Kieth (Angie) Raedel, Calvin (Kirsty) Raedel, Milynda (Travis) Cornford and Jacob Raedel; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Norman, Alden, Kendall and Russel; infant sisters, Ruby, Norma and Betty Jane; and sister, Corrine Martinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
