Try 3 months for $3

January 19 was a cold Saturday, yet lake ice was able to support several enthusiastic fisherfolks and their vehicles as they competed for the heaviest fish prizes offered by the Lake Mason Lions in their annual fisheree at Wagon Wheel Campground and boat landing.

At the 3 p.m. ticket prize drawings, there were fewer people gathered than in past years, yet those who were there were generous in their purchasing of raffle and 50/50 tickets to support the small Lions group. Several are to be congratulated for their good fishing talent and for their luck in being holders of winning drawing tickets. The following were winners of the various prizes offered Saturday.

Fishing prizes of $25 were won by these individuals:

Micha Hudack of Plover caught the heaviest perch; Brittany Vanderzee of Baraboo caught the best crappie; Griffin Wheeler from Poplar Grove, Illinois caught the heaviest bass; and Taylor Rogers of Baraboo caught the heaviest bluegill.

The four 50/50 winners of $112 each were:

Kathy Pickert of Cedarburg; Bob Carlson of Arlington Heights, Illinois; Amy Cole of Portage; Matt Platt of Wisconsin Dells.

“Big ticket” cash winners were as follows:

$50 Joni Gehrke of Wisconsin Dells; $100 Bernard Nix of Wisconsin Dells; $200 Taylor Talley of Portage; $500 Adi Johnson of Kenosha.

The Lions offer sincere thanks to these merchants and individuals who offered raffle merchandise or personal physical assistance to make the day a success.

All those who participated in the fisheree are appreciated by the Lions members, since their contribution allows the club to do more to help those in need in the community. The next scheduled Lake Mason Lions activity is their Pancake Brunch, held at the Briggsville American Legion Building on Sunday, April 7.
