The Wisconsin Dells volleyball team split the first two matches of the South Central Conference season, beating Nekoosa 25-16, 25-13, 25-15 on Thursday night at home before falling in four sets in Adams-Friendship on Tuesday night; 25-18, 26-24, 18-25, 25-23.

In Thursday’s win over the Papermakers, the Chiefs were led by senior Caelan Tourdot, who had nine kills along with five ace serves. Brooke Hartley finished with a team-high 13 assists in the win, while Jamie Pfeifer and Lauren Myklebust both had a pair of blocks. Kennedy Hickey led in digs with seven.

In Tuesday’s loss to Adams-Friendship, Wisconsin Dells dropped the first two sets, but was able to stay alive with a 25-18 win in the third set. The host Green Devils then finished off the Chiefs with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.

In the loss, Tourdot led the Chiefs with nine kills and 10 assists. The trio of Katelyn Meister, Haley Lukasavage and Tourdot each had four ace serves, while Pfeifer had seven blocks and Hickey has 17 digs.

Wisconsin Dells will return to action on Thursday at home against Westfield before playing in the Middleton Invitational on Saturday.
